Cardholder Merger Communications

Cardholder notices begin deployment by email approximately 30–45 days prior to the scheduled account transfer date, with additional reminder notices sent prior to account closure. If a valid email address is not on file, notices will be delivered by letter. Cardholders without a valid email on file will not receive reminder communications prior to account closure.

Cardholder Journey  - Stages and Touchpoints

Cardholders are notified in multiple stages to ensure they have the information needed to prepare for the transition:

  1. 30–45 days before account transfer
  • A detailed letter or email is sent to all cardholders outlining the merger and new card process.
  • Banner messaging is added to microsites.
  1. 14 days before account transfer
  • A reminder email is sent to cardholders with a valid email address on file, reinforcing key dates and next steps (including downloading statements and CardWise closure notice).
  • Banner messaging continues on microsites.
  1. 14 days before account closure
  • An email reminder is sent encouraging cardholders to activate their new card and register for CardWise, along with an account closure reminder.
  • Banner messaging continues on microsites.
  1. 14 days post-account closure
  • A targeted email reminder is sent to any cardholders who have not yet activated their new card or registered for CardWise.
  • Banner messaging remains active on microsites.

This multi-touch approach ensures cardholders receive both mailed and digital reminders (where applicable) ahead of the transition and after account closure.

All details and updates are communicated via letters, email notices, reminder emails, and any applicable contingency notices in the event of a postal service disruption. Digital platforms (CardWise/MyCardInfo) will not display merger information.
