Program Overview

Credit Cards for People New to Canada!

Transitioning to a new country can present numerous challenges. One of the most important aspects is establishing a credit history. Our credit cards are designed with a wide range of benefits to help individuals and families have a smoother transition to life in a new country and support them every step of the way. 

Those who apply for a credit union credit card must meet the following criteria to be considered part of the “New to Canada Program”: 
 

Eligibility requirements for this offer are as follows: 

  • Applicants must be age of majority in Province of residence. 
  • Applicants must be a member of the Credit Union. 
  • Applicants must be a New Immigrant to Canada, that may include: 
    • International students 
    • Federal skilled workers 
    • Federal business streams like investors 
    • Members under provincial or Atlantic immigration programs 

Note: Refugees and humanitarians do not qualify under the New to Canada Program. Refugees and humanitarians can still apply through the standard application process and qualify under the current no score program as long as they have a Canadian address.
